Toast with honey

How do you turn an ordinary toast into an extraordinary one? – Put some caramelized bananas on top! You're welcome!
I chose a super simple recipe that I keep close by – I plan to make caramelized bananas for pancakes or waffles too. They were... oh my, so good!
Ingredients:
- 2–3 well-ripe bananas
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 30g butter
- 2 slices sourdough bread (I recommend @michaelartisanbakery)
- Cream cheese or cottage cheese
- Ground walnuts or pistachios
- Caramel for topping (optional, but sublime)
Preparation method:
- Cut 2–3 bananas in half lengthwise, then again widthwise.
- Sprinkle sugar mixed with a little cinnamon on both sides of the bananas.
- Melt a cube of butter (30g) in a pan, then add the sugar-coated bananas.
- Let the bananas caramelize over low heat for 3–4 minutes on each side. The melted butter and sugar will form a beautiful caramel that will stick to the banana slices.
- Take two slices of good bread and toast them. I used artisan sourdough bread from @michaelartisanbakery , marking the beginning of a beautiful collaboration (I hope) with the producers of 100% natural bread, dedicated to quality, tradition and the complex and fascinating process that results in a bread with unique flavors and textures that attracts the appreciation of consumers looking for an authentic alternative to commercial bread.
- Spread the slices of bread with cream cheese or cottage cheese, place the caramelized bananas, sprinkle some walnuts or ground pistachios and add a drizzle of caramel on top.
Did we like it? Hell yeah! De-li-cious!
